Ah yes, the Halcyon days of the post Exorcist/Omen horror movie boom. Made 1978, what we have here is a classic british horror film wriiten by Jimmy Sangster set in a traditional rural setting, with a couple of US stars to appeal to the international market. Namely then lovely Katherine Ross and Sam Elliott.

It's a kind of a cross between Agatha Christie and Dennis Wheatley. We get trachiotemy's, full burns, Rotweillers, a funky Michael J Lewis soundtrack, Charles Grey, crossbows, and much more.

Love the Nurse who changes into the feline familiar. Note that the cat has different coloured eyes, as the nurse has different coloured lenses in her glasses. Nice attention to detail.

this movie is also quite gross in it's own way. One charactor meets a particularly unpleasant end and then when you think it's all over they then go one step further. I'm sure it beats the hell out of Pedigree Chum :smashin:

If you think Van Helsing is the mutts nuts, then don't buy this. If you were raised on Hammer and Amicus productions then this is for you. All this and a theme song sung by Kiki Dee
