Season 2′s first teaser trailer sets a fall premiere for the Damon Lindelof Rapture drama, which itself moves beyond the scope of author Tom Perotta’s original book, and relocates the story to Jarden, Texas.

The Leftovers: Season 2 Tease (HBO)

Second season production is relocating to Austin, Texas. Though they may still pass off the locale as New York where season one was set.

Justin Theroux, Amy Brenneman, Chris Zylka, Margaret Qualley, Christopher Eccleston, and Carrie Coon are all still expected to return.

It's still about the rapture after all - and some of the same cast are still in this and they relocate to Texas to get away from the chaos last season. There will be new story elements and characters to keep it interesting

That's looking good from the trailer. And after the 1st season, I have no doubt it will live up to my expectations.

Surprised that more people haven't been watching this show. I thought S1 was, on the whole, good stuff.

Because of this show and True Detective I've become a huge fan of Ann Dowd. Fantastic actress who steals attention away from other performers. In True Detective S1 she plays the (spoilers for S1 TD follow)
deranged and inbred sister/mother of Errol Childress, the occultist murderer and serial rapist. She really did a fantastic job of playing an imbecile broken by a life chock-full of abuse and rape.
In The Leftovers her character is just as memorable despite her the constraints placed on her performances owing to her character's
vow of silence. The episode that features the showdown between her character and the protagonist is brilliant.

Can't wait for this to return. Not really expecting too many answers, but the characters and their struggles are fascinating anyway.

His character may be having a difficult time, but in real life Justin gets a happy ending.

The couple got married yesterday at their Bel Air Manson, surprising guests who thought they came to a birthday party. Now on honeymoon in Bora Bora.

First season blew me away & was surprised it wasn't talk about more by people.
I'll definitely be tuning in for S2, am very interested to see where it goes because for me it did feel like a one season show.

Think it's a bit too weird/depressing/irritating for the general audience.

The first season has got to be the best season I've seen on TV in a while. I am praying the second season lives up to its precendent, although the bar may be set too high.

Well that was a welcome return, if a bit mad!

What was that beginning segment about?

So was it maybe an insight into why that town is special? That particular pond/lake because that's where a cave girl snuffed it? Or am I missing something?

Think I will have to rewatch it to take it all in.

    Episode 1: Axis Mundi

Excellent episode, and that first act was great and unexpected, I was not even sure I was watching The Leftovers.

The rest of the episode did not disappoint it felt different and the same. A unique show that will again stand out this year.

I had to look away from the garbage disposal scene lol

And also a new opening credits sequence.

As to the new mysteries I think it may be hard or even ever to work it out, just go with the flow for now.

    Great surreal return.
As mentioned some scenes were very strange & I already like the new characters particularly furtive John.
This is gonna be one of my current favourite shows & takes the slot vacated by Hannibal putting it just behind GoT & TWD :)

I think it's probably because it's a very difficult show to pigeonhole. Even now I look back on season 1 and think "What was that about?" and trying to describe it to others is just as hard beyond the "What happens to people left behind after the rapture/not rapture"

It was a great return for it's second series, just as bizarre and mysterious as the first and there's clearly something off about fire captain John.

    A couple of questions though.

    What happened to Garvey's head?
And why was he staring at the sofa?

Great opening sequence. What days does it come on? Cant work it out with a TV guide. Also, is this show shot on film all of a sudden??

Cheers mate. On NOW TV I imagine it airs around the same day then?

If those specs are also for season 2 and not season 1 then i'm rather surprised as it looks like a completely different show and looks quite filmic
