    Hi all,
Just got back from a preview showing of The Ring! I got two free tickets!!:smashin:

It is absolutely BRILLIANT!! Nearly crapped myself a couple of times, and was still thinking about the film for 30mins after!

Physically, the print was great in places but a couple of times I saw some little scratches and blips on the picture. There was excellent use of sound in the movie, it really added to the effect.

On a VERY negative side, (and this made me laugh!) I saw microphones being used (dunno how that got past the editors) and a couple of times, the print / picture wasn't on the screen properly.
Funnily enough because of the way the movie is, I'm not sure if those bits were intentional....

Will definately be getting the DVD when it is ready to import.

    Go see, and enjoy... :hiya:

After the preview on Film 2003 last night, I think it's worth making an exception to watch a horror film at the cinema.......

    bh,

Normally I try to avoid horror films (because if they are good, I'm still jumping out of my skin hours later!!!) and I have no great love of going to the cinema, but I have to sat that I really enjoyed The Ring and I recommend everyone to go see it!

    Enjoy!

I prefer the Japanese original cos it's just better! I saw the US version the other day on *cough cough* dvd*cough cough* and it's good in it's own right but the original is superior.

I have to agree the Japenese version was superior far more creepy. This version seemed to hack parts of the story making it make less sense.

the little kid was pretty annoying, I think Gore has watched sixth sense a few too many times

However, I did enjoy it on the whole. Nice cameo from Cox

I have the US version, completely original, non-pirate, just arrived yesterday. Going to check it out this weekend so I'm hoping it's good...

I went to watch this tonight, with several friends who saw it last week and said it was scary. I'm afraid I didn't think it was anything special. It was an ok film but I found it more comical than scary, I found myself laughing out loud several times. As I said its an ok film so if your looking for something to watch then see it, but I'm glad I didn't pay to watch it.
Still gave us a chuckle laughing at the girls when we were in the pub and they were sh***ng themselves.

    Eric,

    I'm not entirely sure I understand you......???

I know a bloke who is always saying "Oh yeah, I've got that" whenever I mention a new film to him. I borrowed one of him once. It was a REALLY bad pirate!!!
Firstly, I hate the fact that people do pirating. I really dont see the point of watching something that looks and sounds crap. This was something he got off the net. Someone had taken a camcorder into a cinema, IN JAPAN!!!! I could see the audience, here them laughing etc. etc.!!!

I didn't watch the whole movie and when I saw him I said "Thanks for helping to put the prices of my DVDs up, you a'sehole"!!! May have to burn his house down to make sure he doesn't do it anymore...

BTW, will a moderater tell me off for hijacking my own thread???

    Hehe;)

Anyone watched the deleted scenes yet? They were pretty creepy and at least one of them was important. Shame they weren't incorporated into the film.

Saw it last night R1 DVD, tried not to read too much about it, and although I did'nt do my 'ring-piece' in - I thoroughly enjoyed it.

So much better than the typical teen slasher flick.

Anyone yet to watch it with their girlfriend, in the dark have your mobile hidden away and call her mobile at the end. Should make her jump you will probably get a cushion round the head - I got punch in the ribs! :D
