    Hi

Can anyone tell me if the R2 one is anamorphic? I've checked on play but it doesn't say.

    Thanks

Don't waste ur money on the region 2, buy the special expanded directors edition on region 1 which has a full bitrate DTS soundtrack and great picture quality too.

The R2 is just fine. No complaints about picture or sound quality, and it can be picked up pretty cheaply (around £7.99).

I believe you can only get the director's cut in R1, which many believe is an inferior version of the film. (It is not really an expanded version, as several scenes (and parts of the soundtrack) that were in the theatrical version were removed. Read what people are saying on imdb.com, but if you're a big fan of this film, you'll want both versions.

Thanks for the info. I think I will get the region 2 one for now as it is only £7.99 from play I was just worried because I was testing out my dvd of Dark City last night on my projector and I noticed it wasn't anamorphic and I really did notice a reduction in picture quality!

I've got R1 DTS and although not as awesome as today's movies (this is over 10 years old) it still sounds pretty good. In fact I believe it won the best sound oscar at the time. The sounds of the guns are quite realistic as opposed to a big overproduced sound. But the score is just magnificent and worth the price of the dvd alone.

A great movie, although some good one-liners have been removed from the director's cut. Michael mann is still one of my fav directors.

    Hope this helps

Could anyone tell me where to get the R1 cinema version with DTS. I tried a few sites but they seem to only have the directors cut. I have that in the non-anomorphic version and if you ask he butchered it.

hi there all, I have the R2 and I was not wholly impressed with the picture quality - I thought the scenes in the fort were quite dark...well at least on my projector.

The story and sound tracks great though :)
