Hi, I have had it with the PX11 and LG, i am in the process of getting a refund tomorrow! Problem is i was told that the policy for Dixons, Comet and Currys is that they will not refund after 28 days and it looks like i am past this period as i bought it on Oct 4th! Ok for the interest of others i will now describe my LG service repair HELL! I rang LG about the problems i was having with the LG RZ-42PX11 (poor PQ, flickering contrast, loud crack sound after an hour and random flickering pixels) and they sent some guys round from a company called Barron Maccann (DO NOT LET THIS COMPANY TOUCH YOUR PLASMA)! They took it away for 3 weeks and left no loan TV, i tried to ring them at least twice a day for two weeks to try and get an update on what was happening, a possibility of a loan TV and i only got an answer once from the actual department that was repairing the LG to haer that it would be another 2 weeks, the phone to that department just constantly rings! last week i had enough and sent them (BM) an email stating that i could never get through to the plasma repair dept and they had left no loan TV, so i had been without any form of TV for over 2 weeks. I rang them again last friday and they said it had been passed to a woman, which they put me through to her. I recieved a very snotty responce that the plasma was fixed and that i should get it Monday and that it was now within LG specs? I rang LG service to confirm but LG told me that it was awaiting an upgrade that would be another 10 days for it to come from Korea! ????, BM said it was fixed? i told LG service what BM has stated that is was fixed now and LG replied "well thats good then isn't it" ! I thought i would try BM again but again i could not get through! Got it back yesterday and i was shocked the picture is 10X worse than it was before they took it and the panel had recieved numerous scratches and marks all over the silver surround! After a good trial through the day i found that it still had all the faults i had originally send it away for and i checked the firmware and it was still 3.15! It has not been repaired at all, and it was 10x worse! I spoke to Dixons service and they said ring LG and see what they say, which i did and now after 2 conversations and 2 promises of a call back, i have heard nothing! I am now goning to go back to the Dixons store where i got it and demand my money back! I am absolutley furious at what has happened! Any lawyers that read this, advice would be truely appreciated! Please anyone who has a Plasma fault and has Barron Maccann come to collect it, Don't let them anywhere near it! I found out that they are UK repairers for LG, Panasonic and Pioneer and they are an IT company that really specialise in microwave ovens and not plasmas! Really do hope that i get my money back NM.
