    Hi Folks,

After waiting for what seems like ages, I finally recieved my copy of The Haunting R1 from Play. Seems I foolishly forgot to check, but I thought this was a DTS ES title. Is there a special edition, or is it just not printed on the cover? Its certainly the only one Play have. I thought the reason for no stock was because everybody was buying it for the ES sountrack!

    Can anyone enlighten me?

    Cheers Rob.

    Hi Rob

Im sure this is a es or ex version either R1 or R2, but I think it's not flagged in the software on the disc. Alot of disc are like this unfortuneatly, which means you may have to manually switch the amp/receiver over to es/ex.

Apologies if youve already tried this!

The region 1 version is DTS ES 6.1 Discrete. It was the first DVD with 6.1.
I don't know if there is more than one version.

    Thanks guys.

Play have told me that they won't take the disc back, so I might as well open it and see. Certainly be disapointed if it isnt.

    Rob,

I hope you are not going to be disapointed, but The Haunting dts-es was deleted sometime ago. The case has dts es in big lettering accross the top of the box. I will post the pic for you.

    Try www.dvdconcept.com (£16.99)

That's where i had to get my DTS ES one from
Play didn't stock DTS version only DD
I asked them why that was, they said.......
Currently, we only stock the Dolby Digital version.......

    Cheers!!!!!!!!! for pointing that out!.....

That was almost as good as ordering Tomb Raider, and getting
    American Sweethearts!!!!!!!!!

    Bless 'em.........

All in all.......Play aint done me no harm.....

    Adzman....

play only stock the DD one; but to be fair they do point it out in the disc specs; as Dolby Digital 5.1!!

    Should of read the text!!

www.dc-dvd.co.uk still stock the DTS ES version!

Re the deleting of this disc - It has just been re-issued - I spotted it on www.dvdsoon.com for about a tenner & asked why they quoted a release date of 05/03/02 ? They advised me it was being re-issued on this date & is definately shown on their site as "Audio format: English : DTS-ES 6.1 Surround, English : Dolby Digital Surround "
DVDsoon have emailed me today (06/03) to advise the disc has shipped (the cost was $20.11 Canadian BTW & $3.50 postage)
Obviously if it arrives & is not the DTS I will post here
I have never heard of dvdsoon B4 they came up on www.dvdpricesearch.com when looking for this DVD
Hope this helps ... Paul ;)

I got the Haunting DTS ES 6.1 from DVDimport.com. BUT it took them 3 months to get it in stock and send it. So you will need to be patient. Wasnt expensive though, about £13 with P&P. However they are not responsive and I hesitate to recomend them.

If its being re issued that is a result, maybe Play will get it.

Thanks for all the feedback. Will certainly look more closer next time! Looks like I can still get my hands on a copy, so no great problem :)

    Cheers Rob.
