As so many people have issues with their tv's, I thought perhaps we could start a "I am happy with my TV" section.

Perhaps if enough people mention the same model, I can go out and finally buy (try?) a 32" widescreen TV!

This might also help the many others in the same position as me.

And yes, I know that if people are happy with their telly they probably won't be in this forum, but you never know. Perhaps you know a friend who is happy with their tv?

I should add - personally I'm only looking for a 32" widescreen flat screen TV (no preference on 50hz/100hz or nicam/surround) - but any happy owners of any type of TV please speak up!

Yours (still searching after 3 months) truly,

    Kev

Good idea for a thread. I get so fed up with 'the others'. My vote still goes tp Toshiba 36ZP18P, best PAL picture I have seen on a conventional tv.

Have had a 32ZP18P for a month now and after watching many DVDs, videos and analogue TV I am still very happy with it. Took a while to set up correctly but, once done, its very good.

    Another vote for the 36ZP18.

I've had it since the 11/6/01 (and, for my sins, was the first to post a thread re this model last April).

I'd had problems with Philips and eventually swapped it for this and I've never regretted it for one moment.

    .....THIS IS A STUNNING TV......

I know people have had problems but I've said before that you're lucky if any W/S TV you buy is OK straight out of the box - as it happens my Tosh is/was.

When you've found a TV you like just make sure you buy it from a retailer who will not argue about replacing it. I got mine from www.qed-uk.com and they were first class. I wouldn't just stick to high street shops - if you find an Internet retailer you can trust use them. You can send it back even if you don't like it under the Distance Selling rules, irrespective of whether it works OK or not.

    Cheers
    OG

Another vote for the Tosh 36ZP18.

I've had it since August last year, and am very happy with it. It's got a couple of minor niggles, but on the whole the picture is excellent.

What's your budget? Does it have to be a 32" CRT set?

BTW: My Toshiba 40WH03B RP TV (after a few initial teething troubles) gives a great picture with a RGB DVD signal.

    Good luck

Another vote for the Loewe Aconda. After months (over a year actually!) of assessing Panasonics, Toshibas, Sonys (which have differing strengths as well as weaknesses) and others I consider the Aconda to be the nearest thing yet to the widescreen flat CRT holy grail!

We got our Toshiba 3387DB nearly 12 months ago and we are very happy with it. After having 4 different WS tv's all with appalling geometry, we settled for this one. It works well with us having young children, so it's a family tv, not just a grown-ups.

Loewe Vitros (though you can equate this to an Aconda as it's supposed to be the same internally).

Add me to the happy 46WH08B owners. I can find minor faults but the plusses far outweigh these.
Great 100Hz processing and BIG impressive pictures.
