Can this projector be faulted?????? Go on give it a bash. Amazing value. I get very slight rainbows on it but it doesn't bother me. I'd rather get that cinema experience of a DLP any day of the week over the washed out and hollow feeling of a similar priced LCD projector.

As much as I've enjoyed my PTAE100, I can't wait to get my hands on a good DLP.

I'm going to blow some cash, I reckon, and go for the H78DC3 (masquerading as an H79) :D

Have you demo'd some of the latest LCD models?? The H30A has numerous issues screen door, rainbows e.t.c.. as do all projectors DLP or LCD.

I think a lot of LCD owners would strongly disagree with your statement.

Must admit when I viewed the AE700 and the H30A together I preferred the picture of the AE700. Both were viewed in a light controlled environment ( ie pitch black) on the same screen, for me the 700s was just cleaner. I found the H30As picture a little too warm..

But its all horses for courses, they're both cracking projectors ( as are the 4805 and Z3, the other 2 I demo'd before buying) and I'd advise anyone to at least view one DLP and one LCD before plunging either way :)

Dirk_Diggler,

Well done.................. in the space of a little over two weeks you've managed to "take the plunge" into front projection (http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=233778),

whinge about getting your cabling sorted out (http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=236091),

whinge about the forum here, complaining that
"Just reading some of these posts is enough to put you off buying a projector for life. People can be far too picky which therefore puts thoughts in our heads to look out for things that we would never have noticed before."

complain about the cost of cables (http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=236388)

Had a "brerakthrough" and decided that you can watch movies without looking for problems (http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=237504)

Finally watched 2 full films at the weekend without thinking about or looking for problems with my screen (slight rainbows on the H30A)

(... although how anyone could watch movies when they see rainbows is beyond me......)

Asked for advice on whether the move from composite video to component video is worth it (http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=237785)

and now you have graduated to the level of trolling -

The DLP vs. LCD issue has been thrashed out umpteen times - each technology has it's advantages and disadvantages; standard advice is to see them in action. The "very slight rainbows" that you see on your H30A would, for instance, be completely unacceptable to me.

Can this projector be faulted ? Yes it can, all projectors can be faulted in some way - finding one that suits you is a combination of which technology has the least downside for you, whether the model will suit your intended installation, your intended use and your budget.

If you're finally happy with your choice, that's great, I hope you get lots of enjoyment from it. But please don't start another DLP vs. LCD thread.

Fantastic! I've finally got a stalker. Was just bored and felt like making a bold statement like so many other people have to see the reaction.

Not stalking, just tired of reading whinges and complaints.
