The Gutter Twins

Any fans?

I'd never heard of them until I watched Jools Holland at the weekend (possibly recorded from a fortnight ago...)

I instantly spotted a rather rough looking Mark Lanegan on vocals - what a voice! Anyway, they played a couple of cracking tracks on the show.

Check out their Myspace page for some tunes...

He's a busy bloke that Lanegan, his second album with Isobel Campbell's out very soon. Can't wait for that. The other bloke, Greg Dulli, I'm afraid I'm not really aware of his previous work (Afgahn Whigs) but will be checking them out.

bit pricey from the website though. probably cheaper elsewhere. Interesting you can download the album from that site, never knew they did that.

Ill have to start saving... theres some good stuff out and coming.

I started with Gutter Twins then worked back over Greg Dulli's work, Afghan Whigs are superb - Gentleman and Black Love are the albums to buy, also his other project The Twilight Singers are excellent, Powder Burns and Blackberry Belle (featuring Mark Lanegen on a track) are the albums to look out for, amazing when they have been out so long yet I heard nothing of them until Gutter Twins.

I am a big Mark Lanegan fan and can remember him from the days of The Screaming Trees.

I would highly recommend his Solo Album Bubblegum in my opinion the best work he has been involved with, it has a couple of great duets with PJ Harvey.

I saw him singing with The Queens of the Stone Age on tour and think that it was one of the best gigs I have ever seen.

Carlos.
