Did anyone watch the first part of this last night?

It sort of Spooks/24. The story is happening all over the world but is linked.
Although not as glossy as a full US production the budget looked big.

I wonders why all the news they was showing in the program was from Sky rather than the BBC then when the end credits roles it was revelled Sky had a big hand in producing it.

Anyway I’m looking forwards to the next 2 parts tonight and tomorrow. :smashin:

Watched the first episode last night.
Not bad but some of the accents and acting leaves a lot to be desired.

I suspect the main point it is trying to make is how people percieve terrorism and how they're prepared to sacrifice their ideals and philospohy for it.
For example, the doctor was totally against terrorism and murder but after the first few deaths he seems to have got over the constraints of his Hippocratic oath.

    Hi,
I watched it last night and have a few questions as I was doing something else at the same time...

    SPOILER QUESTIONS:

after the Asian British Guy, who has a brother who reports him, dies in prison (part 2 I think), there is a scene where Derek (Brit cop) speaks to an Asian person in a room and shows the picture of the guy dead. Who is that person?

Then there is a scene, showing Derek throwing someone in jail, who is that? and who did he tell Derek about? Isn't it the guy who already died?

Then the Brit cops storm a shop/warehouse where the guy shoots himself, who is that guy?

When Emily drags Mohamed out of the car and shoots him, I thought she killed him, but he lives, so where did she shoot?

When Mohamed plants a knife in his hand, is the person he is talking to supposed to be the "most wanted man in the world"?

Where does Mohamed end up? It looks like a military camp, why isn't he in jail?

Sorry for all this but if you don't watch it all the way through, you lose track of all the people.

Finally, does "The Grid" refer to Chicago's cell phone grid?

    thanks

    gaffer

I to was doing something at the same time as well and missed some points as the pace was very frenetic and though the story could have been spread out a bit further.

SPOILER ANSWERS TILL END OF THIS POST

2 He looked very similar I too though it was the same guy for a moment.

3 He was one of the UK terrorist cells he had been seen before.

4 She gave him a parting across his hair line.

5 Yes I think it was meant to be him.

    6 Better security.

7 The Grid, I thought was the connections between the agencies, also the terrorists network.

Only saw the last episode, enjoyed it but 2 things did annoy me
    1) the brits were generally 'normal' and realistic looking whilst the guys on the other side of the atlantic were all clean cut, good looking.... and seemed less real as a result.

    spoiler..

    2) Why did it have to be us Brits who failed to stop the gas attack, whilst
our friends over the pond were successful in stopping the ship from going bang

With the exception of Bond, we usually get the bad endings and failures.

Roll on 'Churchill, the Hollywood years'.

I was going to comment on that after watching the 1st episode.
It's almost as if they were intentionally trying to make the Americans look cool and sophisticated and the Brits like something out of Dads Army...

Guantanamo Bay? That's where most of the terrorists associated with the US clampdown on global terror end up.
