Folks are these versions in English with no forced subtitles etc? I was burned before on apocalypse now french edition so once bitten twice shy.

Warner Studio so you should be fine.
I also believe that UK/ITA/ES/DE... all share the same 4K disc (no info about the French disc yet)
Their might be some differences for the standard blu-ray discs (TBC) but you should be fine with subs.

Thanks that's great info. In relation to other studios i was looking at also getting Sicario 2 steelbook but they are studiocanal could these have forced subtitles etc? Its an import from Germany it seems. Sorry to be taking this off topic trying to get my head around what's safe to order

That German Steelbook release does not include English subtitles.
No idea if the German subs are forced but i would be surprised if they were as Germany rarely force these.
You might be better of buying that one from Germany directly as its cheaper at 19 EUR
