    The good
Today, 8, hour long episodes back to back, and they can be recorder without having to swap tapes/dvd's etc

    The Bad
When the wife accidentally unplugs it for a few seconds half an hour before its all over you loose the lot.

why cant they sort of every 10 minutes or so properly save it or something.

    ok I'm off to sulk

    Yep :)

It was partly my fault though, as the recorder was a relativly new addition and I'd run out of spaces on the multi gang socket everything else is plugged into...

Bit of a side issue but really you should have your video/audio equipment on a separate surge protected/rfi supressed socket, it should be forbidden to plug anything else into it, especially things with motors like hoovers.

even with an 8 hour back2back - i'd be inclined to record in sections maybe hourly - then you'd prolly only lose last episode

Better than the story in a Hospital where the cleaner unplugged a piece of life saving equipment to use the floor cleaner. Several patients died in this particular bed and they couldnt work out why for weeks and weeks. they thought the bed was haunted or something.
