It'll be great if they add the ability to drive around in the golf carts too, that's something I have never seen in a golf game yet.

Either way, I'd rather give these guys some money rather than EA ;)

I have to be honest, it looks a bit poor. The courses seem to be rendered in a way where the players don't fit and the player animation looks crap. Note how each player freezes at the end of each swing.

Think I will give early access a miss on this despite loving golf games.

Could do with a good golf game but had enough of early access to be honest.

First impressions are alright. Trying not to compare it to TW but it's difficult!

Only graphics options are Low, Medium and High. Noticed slight tearing so turned Vsync on through NCP but still not butter smooth. Shimmering shadows in trees quite annoying.

Has overhead view, in which you can manipulate the camera however you want.

Also has a zoom to marker feature like TW show aim/landing point......only problem is there is no marker when you use it.

Seems to be pretty easy to hit accurate shots. Even when deliberately taking back/forward swing off line it does not deviate much.

Still, it has lots of potential, I'm just please a golf title is being developed!

It's definitely playable mate, no game breakers preventing you from playing a round. I did the first 9 holes tutorial last night and really enjoyed it. Looking forward to seeing it polished over the coming months.

Is meant to be coming to NG consoles for "spring" but I can't see it hitting that target. Really tempting to go early access!

Can you play online? I have not been on my PC much as I am busy with the consoles but might get this and have a few games online with you guys. Is the game quite realistic?

Realistic? Well, I'd snapped my Driver in two by the third hole, and gave up and got pissed in the clubhouse by the 8th hole, so yes, very realistic!

Haha how did you manage to snap your club and can you play online yet? I addicted to forza 5, fifa clubs and trials mainly at the moment and have infamous second son to play as well as dead rising but you can never have enough games :)
Shame doesn't have real life courses and tournaments. I will have to read up see how many people can play at one time per course and what tournaments there are etc.

I should also say, the other major difference from TW is the lack of spin control whilst ball is in flight. It's probably more realistic this way, but it felt REALLY strange just sitting there doing nothing waiting for the shot to land!

The draw and fade mechanics are different to. Instead of moving the analogue stick diagonally to create draw fade, you set the amount of draw/fade before you begin your swing. You can also alter your stance, which I imagine is the method for adding back/top spin, but I need to spend more time on it to confirm.

I'll check later on if the online side of things are up and running yet.

Yeah i bought it first thing this morn had 20 in paypal to use up. Done full round was +1 after missing eagle put on last. Putting power was hard to judge missed many i shouldn't getting used to it.
It has potential for defo, like like the shot modifier (LT spin n fade etc) but can still aim for fade like TW.
Graphics not the best (but ok) as yet but sure they'll add stuff. Commentary was mellow and pretty good, was nice to hear a thanks for early access in it at the start before teeing off.

I guess a buy depends on if gonna buy it anyway, i was so worth a play now for sure.

bought this as i fancy a golf game on PC. very much early days and some grating things...like putting power is erratic and view behind golfer obscures info. Performance also sluggish. Still has potential and look forward to updates

Nice, does seem very early access tho to me, cant see any release within 6 months. Hope to be wrong tho.

Yea when it was announced, it was slated for "Spring" but really cant see it.

...though technically the early release is in the Spring! Depends how the reporters interpreted the story.

Cool, will do.

I've had a couple of rounds and am cautiously optimistic. Firstly, it runs like a dog on my laptop, but that's probably down to my laptop, though if can run some modern games ok at reasonable settings, so was quite disappointed that something like this needs a lot of grunt. Hopefully they will optimise it a bit down the line for lesser machines.

Other than that, it seems cool. Really like the laid back atmosphere. None of the glitz and glamour of tiger woods and more like taking your clubs over the local course. The commentary is really nice and quite fluid.

Haven't worked out how to do backspin yet (I know about the LT modifier, but it isn't clear how you do back/forward spin).

Also like how a lot of it is down to 'feel' and I will hitting my puts pretty well after a few goes despite the glitchy frame rate.

So yea, hopefully this can turn out to be a very nice game and I'll probably still get it on a console when it's polished and released.

Feel free to add me on Steam guys (mrledge) as I picked this up today, too.

Played the nine-hole course twice for a +2 and a -2 (thanks to an eagle when I holed out from about 150 yards). Not bad as I can't hit the ball straight yet. Had a slight draw and tried to correct it and now have a slight fade :)

I also don't think I've held a putt over 8ft, but I really enjoyed it and it shows a lot of promise.
