Evening folks,

I receieved my R1 edition at the weekend - 30th September - which was fantastic, as it's not out for nearly another 10 days.

However, I ought to warn you about something that affects the actual box packaging.

The black box is nice, but on the back of it, you will probably find a small, colour information sheet telling potential purchasers what's on the discs, etc. Sadly, someone at Paramount thought it would be clever to use double-sided sticky tape to glue it to the box!!!

If you remove it, one of two things will happen:
1 - the leaflet tears, and half remains stuck to the box, which then becomes almost impossible to remove, without damaging the box itself, because the sticky tape is so strong and would require scraping off - resulting in one totally buggered-up box!
2 - the leaflet takes some of the box cover off with it, and you end-up with a nicely damaged DVD boxed-set!

I don't know why this has happened, as the set comes cellophaned, anyway, so the leaflet could simply have been left loose, rather than stuck down (ala "The X-Files" boxed sets).

Has anyone else experienced this problem? If so, please could you post to this thread, and maybe we can all discuss what to do, as I don't really fancy having to send the whole set back to my DVD importer, only to be sent another set with the exact same problem!

    A distressed,

Dissapointing mate I'm still looking forward to that one though...

Nothing to do with The Godfather, but have you re-read the Maniac thread from a few weeks ago? If not do mate I've watched it now....

I ordered this from amazon, so it should be here by next Tuesday, hopefully. Maybe this sticky instruction shee is only used on R1 discs? Doubt it though.

Thanks for the warning, I am expecting mine sometime in the next couple of weeks and shall be careful.

My region 1 Simpsons box set also had an info sheet stuck to it, fortunately this used a kind of rubbery glue, as used on some magazines for cover mounted CD's, so came away hassle free.

Why they can't print this info on the box or provide it loose leaf is beyond me.

Got mine today region 1 from play247. On my box, that sheet looks in no way like it is inviting me to take it off, it is stuck firmly and securely and will be staying there.

Thanks for the warning anyway PoochJD.

I got it off OK, but it took a while. You need to pull very slowly. :)

Is there any difference between the Region 1 and Region 2 editions of The Godfather Trilogy...at all? I'm thinking of getting the R2 edition because I can get it cheap at work, but if the R1 edition is even just slightly superior to the R2 edition I'm gonna buy the R1 edition :)
