Many like myself understand the GF was probably the greatest film ever made and Part 2 was not bad either. 3 just never clicked and reading Coppola latest interview upon release of *Coda*
Numerous pay disputes with Duvall and various others, re-shoots and of Coppola himself was in dire straits regarding monetary short-fulls. Previous films had not excelled with audiences.... the list goes on.
I have to watch this again to understand why it was never liked (can't remember the last time did tbh)
One interesting remark that Coppola made in the interview that he mentions Sofia and that she was not a prime actress at the time and hardly had any experience...... basically saying *not good enough*
My question is was there ever a need for Andy Garcia? if so, why him?
“I'll make him an offer he can't refuse.” Long live Don Vito Corleone for me!
I'll start by saying I'm the biggest godfather fan there is I love all three films equally, but this edit I can only describe as a rip-off he took out a couple of scenes spiced up the sound a bit and put it out for release to squeeze out a few more dollars out of a ready adequate movie. I was really looking forward to a new kinda start and finish to this movie however I feel really disappointed there was no real difference to this edited version and the original.
I shall be contacting Amazon to get my 14.99 back shortly.I have requested a refund from iTunes!
but he also removed the scenes from the deserted boat house from Godfather II, which I liked.

This is suddenly out of stock everywhere I've seen at British online retailors.
Can anyone find it in stock? £15 and not the price shown below
Thanks
That's an interesting take on it. I figured Pacino had lapsed into being Pacino much later on (and only really noticed it in that dreadful TV Movie about Phil Spector). In that case, do you think "Coda" casts him in a better or worse light? I thought it removed a lot of the sentimentality that made the original Part III sustainable, if worse than the first two.I forgot to mention that by the time of part 3, Pacino had lapsed into just being Pacino rather than a proper actor as in the first two.
I’d agree that the new cut is better and I do prefer it. It just always bothered me that Michael doesn’t same that much like Michael and is in fact much more Al.That's an interesting take on it. Anything else?!That’s a good question. I personally only appreciate his performances in both Godfathers and to a lesser extent Coda. After that maybe Sea of Love, Serpico and Dog Day Afternoon. Heat was fairly good but I didn’t like his performance n it. Anything else is a no from me.
Afraid I haven't seen those. I did try to watch DB and Heat but somehow they bored me a little.Anything else?!
Carlito's Way? Donnie Brasco? You didn't like him in Heat?!
