Did not know much about this apart from It had Jackie Chan and Pierce Brosnan in it and thought it would be standard JC fare in comedic fight scenes and such. Couldn't be further from a standard JC film if it tried and a third in it seemed very familier to me . Said to the wife its based on a book I've read and after a quick search it is . Based on the Steven Leather book The Chinaman. It tells a story of family loss through IRA bombing and a simple adged Chinese restaurant owner with a shadow past that is more than a match and under estimated by the IRA to take his revenge .
The film plays it straight as to the book ( some changes ) and a great performance from JC and PB.
Well worth a watch . Couldn't find another thread via my search. If there is one then close or fold in .
