3rd round of the cup is my favourite weekend of the year. Doesn't seem the same playing on a Friday night though.
So far so good but could do with another goal or 2 to make sure.

    That should do it now.

Now to relax and hopefully enjoy some giant killing over the weekend. Come on the minnows!

Solid if unspectacular performance so far. Yet another goal for Lukaku - a clever one too.

Good to see Chong given a first team debut, by all accounts he’s a great player.

Wasn't Alberto Moreno complaining recently about not getting starts, well he's got his wish, he plays against wolves on Monday.

So that's five Premier League teams out in the third round with another one to exit tomorrow.

Shows just how little most Premier League teams care for the FA Cup these days.

True. If Leicester had really wanted that they'd have started Vardy - and played Chilwell and Gray.

I think #15 was only liked because they hope it'll be Liverpool too. ;)

The pundits have already started with their ‘Liverpool are better off out of the cup’ nonsense. They’re absolutely not.

    Does it really show that?

Other than Leicester the other teams you'd expect to get through did so comfortably.

Cardiff, Fulham, Newcastle etc aren't teams you'd expect to ease past anyone at the moment.

They shouldn’t be losing to lower league opposition though really. The odd shock is to be expected of course but not as many as there have been so far. The players might be up for it, not so sure the managers are though.

Other than Leicester I don’t think there’s been any big shocks with PL opposition tbh.

Glad to see Pep taking the fa cup seriously with the side we picked today.

Really pleased for Oldham too, what a win that is away at Fulham - something like 60 places between them in the league.

    Bring on Burton !!

I buy that. It's why I asked was Cardiff even a shock? I saw that their manager chose to whinge about not getting a defender to sidestep the issue of their cup exit. Looking forward to see how Liverpool will respond tonight after that first Premier League defeat but we'll see at Brighton - tonight's game is entirely different of course, it will be interesting to see the team selection given that Clyne and Solanke can't play a part any longer.

Apropos Oldham, his is a nice story.

    "
One moment you are preparing to watch your team in the FA Cup, the next minute you are masterminding a giant-killing.

Pete Wild was always supposed to be at Fulham's Craven Cottage on Sunday, but in the Oldham away end rather than the Latics' dugout.

The 33-year-old, who had a ticket for the FA Cup clash, was appointed Oldham's caretaker manager on 27 December, after the club sacked Frankie Bunn.

Just 10 days later he led the League Two club to a famous 2-1 victory over the Premier League side, who are 59 places above them in the football pyramid.

Pete Wild: Oldham caretaker manager's journey from fan to FA Cup giant-killer

No Lallana at all, must be injured again.

When you've achieved what Klopp has at Liverpool you can afford to pick and choose which cups to take seriously. It's like Fergie all over again..
