for all the hype this film has received i have to say im less than impressed i was expecting scares and received nothing, the only genuine creepy scene`s where the fella in the lift an the girl who stands in the corner.maybe its just me but when i read a review that says "Featuring some of the most genuinely terrifying moments ever seen on screen, as well as a finale more spectacular than anything to come out of Hollywood, this stylish and haunting film from the critically acclaimed Pang Brothers (Bangkok Dangerous) deserves its place at the forefront of modern horror cinema" i was expecting a hell of a lot more.

    Silverback,

First rule of movie critic comments on video covers: don't believe movie critic comments.

Second rule of movie critic comments on video covers: you DO NOT believe movie critic comments! :rotfl:

It's like those TV ads for new movies, where they show people coming out of the film being promoted, saying "It was fantastic", or "Best film this year". You know from those comments alone, the film's going to be sh**e!

Seriously though, "The Eye" isn't as creepy or good as everyone claims. The ending was quite cool, but it takes a lot of patience to sit through the previous 90 minutes.

Shame. I was really hoping another "Ring" flick!

I quite enjoyed this film, had its moments, but again an asian film that does not always appeal to western audiences. Probably better in the cinema.

I finally got round to watching this last night and I have to say I was disappointed. I've seen scarier turnips.

It was ok but I would hardly call it a horror film

did you see the peice in Total Film about him then his subsequent retort in the letters page? How on earth can he justify his awful reviews?

The Eye was ok but a little drawn out to be sure. At least it ended well and didn't go all diabetestastic.
Can't comment on Pooch's last sentance unless we've switched to a Deliverance review.

gringottsdirect, I think the word your signature suffers for its lack is hegemony.

Damn, I must be the only person that likes The Eye then :)

I did buy it before all the hype and Paul Ross style reviews though, with no clue what to expect (Got it because someone mentioned it as a recommended Asian Horror at £5 :))

Showed it to my brother, and a few friends too. They have all liked.

    Spazzle

I just can't let a thread go completely against a film I like and other may like. I must defend! :)
