Just got back from the US where I caught a couple of the new eps.I´m afraid without Mulder and Scully it just ain´t the X-files anymore.
Also while I was there they announced the show has been cancelled by Fox because of "plummeting"ratings so this is the last series.

Knew this was going to be the last series for some time. Think Chris Carter let it slip in an interview he gave in some mag last year.

I think they are planning on doing movies only now, but we'll have to see.

    Just an opinion:
I got fed up of Mulder, and think since Robert Patrick join the cast the show has started to pick up again and I know I’m not the only one.

    Ruby quartz shades.

Well, your the only one I've ever heard of being fed up with Mulder. IMHO he made the show.

Can't say I'm looking forward to new series as I thought the last one was crap and Robert Patrick wasn't given anything to work with script wise. All the stories were very poor.

In Malaysia the new shows were running already some while ago (on Star World) but I never bothered to catch them.
Loved the series though while Mulder was starring in it.

Initially I didn't like X-Files but later started to love them and kept my Sunday evening free for that, perhaps change my mind later about R.P., too!?

Seconded, and that's coming from a diehard fan that's been there since episode one, series one, on Sky One.

the earlier series were by far the better ones......the best bit was, you could just watch any epsiode, as they were all individual stories, now its just one big drawn out story....

Got to agree that I thought Robert Patrick was surprisingly good and refreshing in the show. My worry was that T2 would be burned in brain but he showed quality. I liked the idea a show with the two newbies as opposed to M&S being around and sapping their own right possible leads. An Albatros of huge proportions which no doubt killed their and the shows chance for a new lease of life.
This is not to diminish what went before, with some truly grim and wonderous stuff. Damn, sounds like I've been watching sodding daytime fake love in crap.
