    Hi,

There seems to be news that a fully uncut, and truly uncensored version of Ken Russell's "THE DEVILS" could be out on UK DVD soon.

    Just go... here!

Let's hope Warner's get their butts in gear on this!

I was at the NFT and saw this screening. I concur that some of the material still needs work on but it was essential viewing and a pleasure to see even in this format.

The BBFC should have no problem with rating this as an 18 and consensus seemed to be that it was really just a legal issue that is holding up the release of the film

What may happen with this title as with the uncut version of Stones NBK, is that it may end up being released on another label rather than directly by Warner Bros. They have really not been keen to be associated with this product in the past, and even now under it's current respectable mantle, I can't see them eating to much humble pie.

As an aside, the following night I came out of an NFT showing of "The House Of Wax" to find Mr Russell waiting in the lobby. He seems somewhat flummoxed by the high turn out for a 3D film.

    Hi Again,

IN my opinion, I don't care who releases it, as long as:
    a) it is released truly and totally uncut (or as near as it can be)
    b) that the print is 16:9 anamorphic widescreen
    c) digitally-remastered
    d) given a DD2.0 Surround and/or DD 5.1 soundtracks
    e) has english subtitles for the hard of hearing
    f) has tons of extras, including the Mark Kermode documentary shown on C4 a while back
    g) is released as a double-disc set, and
    h) doesn't get given a crummy cardboard box to hold the discs.

Why don't Warner's let the British Film Institute release it?! Or any half-decent company, for that matter?! Just release it!!!!!
