100% agree with this review. One of the best films out there. The joker attempt on the police escort is still my go to demo scene for both sound and picture!!

      Great review Cas :smashin:

So you liked it then?

Hope I made the right move with iTunes 4K, if not will just get this on disc maybe, as it is the best of the three by far :smashin:

Thanks again, roll on TDKR review

Yeah I just bought this one yesterday and it looks incredible, especially the IMAX scenes. It's definitely a good buy.

The part in IMAX when the Joker and his gang are attacking Harvey Dent in the cop van, is hands down one of the BEST 4K HDR scenes i have ever seen to date. AWESOME scene, AWESOME PQ and AWESOME SQ!

      Nice review Cas

The non IMAX scenes were rife with edge enhancement on the Blu Ray, are you able to confirm this has now been banished on the 4K disc?

Why would anyone pay £36.95 for this when you can buy the trilogy set for a fiver more?

Great review @Casimir Harlow , it is a fantastic film and my favourite of a superhero trilogy .

Got this trilogy as a Crimbo Prezzie along with Dunkirk but as yet have not had the time to watch them .

Bloody family and Christmas , bah humbug .

Will start with BB as even though not demo UHD will be better than the BD where one can not make out much of anything in is what a dark film .

Also very much like the box set design .

Another one you may want to add to your collection, is Terminator 2. It looks really good.

"whilst the original [TDK] Blu-ray release wasn't as flawed as Batman Begins", wut? Are you on crack Cas? TDK's Blu has become a watchword for its rampant usage of sharpening, it looks so over-processed and fugly in the 35mm scenes and even the IMAX stuff has a clear lick of edge halos. Begins' BD may have been on the soft side but upon reflection it's a damned sight better off than TDK ever was.

THANKFULLY we can lay that ghastly Blu-ray to rest with this wonderful 4K presentation. The 35mm stuff looks gorgeous (for Nolan's take on 35mm, anyway) and the IMAX stuff is out of this world. The "blacks" are again nothing of the sort but this release is still a winner.

This really stuck out to me too. Begins looked good, if a little soft. TDK looked awful in a lot of scenes, if not most of them. I don’t know how seriously I can trust a review when I objectively disagree with the reviewer so strongly on an opinion.

TDK original release was awful. Full of EE and screwed up colour grading on IMAX scenes which looked awesome on Batman Begins Blu-ray

We went to see him in Liverpool and it’s an absolutely breathtaking concert. If you ever get chance to see him, go and you won’t be disappointed.

Cheers for the review cas, been reading over the 3 reviews for the trilogy and thinking these will be my first UHD BD purchase. I was going to buy the trilogy earlier but its out of stock now so will hold off. At the moment I only have the Xbox to play UHD disks and my projector can take a 4k input so probably better off waiting anyway. Out of interest does anyone know how watching the UHD BD would compare to the BD on a JVC X70?

Thanks for posting that suggestion, Ive just ordered it from Amazon. We went to see a movie/superhero soundtrack orchestra last year and it was amazing so looking forward to this.
