what's the best way to touch up my black cranks as they have a few scuffs on them and shows the bare metal?

I like the sound of that, would love mine in matt grey. Whereabouts was this...did they specify how much you need to strip things down....do they prime and then powder coat...consdidering how much I've spent on near gearset, this would finish things off nicely

I'm going through 4 matt black options at the moment, but might have a look at matt grey as well

That seems pretty good, certainly cheaper than I expected.
Yes I have seen in the £70 - to £90 range when searching for bike powder coaters.

seems cheap than the first places I've found close to me

Might be because these guys do just about anything, so they are not aiming at just one area of the market and the price to match.

I'd be interested in the details as well, as need to have some garden furniture done

Yep,what he said please

The company is called Specialist Powder Coating based in Sittingbourne Kent and reply to contact us pretty quickly and with all questions answered (for me that was the case)

Out of the matt blacks I'm liking #2b2b2c
It is very much like my downhill bike and would imo work really well.

So out of interest what do you need to give them, just the frame with EVERYTHING else stripped out? Brakes, cranks, pivot bearings? OR DO THEY do some of that for you if you supply the bike (assume not)

I'm going to guess that if you do not want it powder coated then you need to remove it and as they are a general powder coaters, they are not going to be up with what is a headset cup or an ARC frame washer/bearing.

Take it in naked and they will do the rest.

well, I managed to finish the month with a 36k ride taking me to 600k for the month...that and 119km ran as well. been a big week too so looking forward to a weekend of little or no fitness-based stuff at all...

then it all starts again on Monday

decided to go for a ride after work today - and it was a continuation of the lanchester track, then the waskerley way then home... 22 miles, perhaps not the best idea @ 4:30, but was forecast for rain tomorrow and wanted to do a ride... with hindsight, it was great.. :) but with 10 miles to go, not si sure haha

Really feeling it as its
Slacker! :D

nice...I'll be investigating warmer tops at some point, as currently I've only been wearing t-shirts and the most part this has been fine, that said I'm not into riding when it's wet...!
I generally ride with a short sleeve cycling top in the summer and a warmer top/merino baselayer in the winter. However this year it’s been quite cold and I’ve been using my ‘boil in the bag’ cheapo rain jacket as a windbreaker, but it gets wetter inside than it does out. This jacket should hopefully eleminate the internal precipitation :smashin:

yes, i made the mistake of buying a cheap 10 quid (in a sale) water resistant jacket...wore it once and like you said -was soaking on the inside...got an old fleece that could work when it's cold...but as I said i don;t really intend to go out when wet, cold days tho...think i have that covered with a few base layers, but it's easy to buy stuff when there's ma few offers on.. :)

nothing better really.. :)

I've gotta say, I'm quite impressed with all you folk picking this up and doing quite well; I had a whole month of slacking off (part mental, part rain, part bad timing), got 60 miles in over the last 3 days so hopefully I'll get back to some sort of shape soon. Hoping for a bigger ride on Sunday, maybe 40 miles or so.

yep, it had forecast rain for today (tho, that's no longer the case..) and wanted to get some miles in...but hadn't realised how hot it was when i first stepped outside..! luckily it clouded over a bit afterwards... :)

Is the guage on this pump faulty ?
The pin should be at the top of that rectangle shouldn’t it ?

My longest ever ride today. After riding with a mate who uses a speed sensor as well as GPS (we use the same cycle computer) and him clocking in a handful more km than me and faster average, I’m gonna fit my speed sensor.

Average speed should’ve been higher but I cocked up the directions and we had to back track plus stopping for photos doesn’t help either.

they seem a decent brand canyon - saw some videos on their mountain bikes.. :)

wish my gps would do the amount i freecycled (cadence) as especially when I'm going downhill i freewheel a lot and would be interesting to know how much..

Well done, that's a great distance especially in the heat.
It looks like it was nice at Thorpeness, I love sitting by that lake with a coffee and cake. Our caravan is just up the coast so I'm getting to know that area quite well now.
