    Hi,

Don't know about the actual DVD, but in my opinion, the film isn't that good anyway.

It's too dull for adults, too brutal for kids, and not fast enough for teenagers. As for the plot, well it's as if they stretched the age old notion of "hero comes back from the dead" to breaking point! The viewer's shown nothing that should give him/her any sympathy for Eric Draven. Yes, he gets killed, and Shelly didn't deserve her sexual assault (if memory serves!), but why bother trying to drag the revenge thing over nearly 105 minutes?!

Sorry, but it's simply not an enjoyable film. There's far better comic-book fantasy movies in existance than this, and how on earth can they continue to churn out three sequels?!

The question of sequels is certainly a different story and I found the 1st sequel not as good as the movie itself.
Have the old release(s) and it's not that good in terms of quality (though not really bad) but yes, I do like the movie.

So you rekon the 3rd one isn't worth getting?

I'm still waiting for my box set (i know about the sequels!) to turn up but on the board at dvd file someone posted a link to an article written by David Schow (worked extensively on The Crow as well as writing Blade I think) and it seems that there was gonna be some truely superb extras thanks to the involvement of director Alex Pryas. But politics got in the way and all his stuff was dropped, basically. It's meant to have contained some never before behind the scenes stuff. Quite a bit of it too.

    Here's the link:

Oh well, here's hoping my set turns up soon.

Well if you do buy make sure you get the new release (R1 import only at the moment I think). I've got the original R1 release and the picture is pants. And I think it's Dolby Surround if memory serves. Plus the R2 version was worse than that I think !

I got it slightly wrong !

    Rewind says :

    The Crow R1 (original release)
    1.85:1 non-anamorphic :(
    DD 5.1

    The Crow R2 (original release)
    4:3 format
    DD 2.0

    Cheers,

    DF

I think the crow is brilliant I have been waitng for ages for a decent version to come out.
I certainly wasn't going to buy the region 2 DVD in 4/3 and the poor picture of the original region 1.
PS It has some great demo scenes in it as well! top film.
