There are no cuts to any version on DVD.

This is my most favourite film (after The Thing).
No cut evident in any region!

The Film was cut to pieces by the Studio after Branden lee died during filming.
Alot of the extra violence can be seen in the deleted scenes - this is the only time those scenes have ever been released so it well worth getting this Special edition.

Is this the same version as the one in the R1 trilogy boxset?

I have the 2 disc miramax R1 version which gives you dts. I've had it for a couple of years. Bought when the only R2 version was a release with a cheesy Sun newspaper review on the front plus a lame box.

R1 miramax has a great box and great sound too. Watched it the other night. Great stuff but still need to see the second disc

Slightly off topic - but I'm currently writing up the Japanese DTS release that came out in August - the review will be up sometime this week :)

    Cracking movie though IMO.

This is a great movie and one which I don’t currently have on dvd. Therefore, I’m very much looking forward to the review! :)

Yes I will be - I've dug up my 2 disk R1 so I'm hoping to spend a lil extra time in judging the PQ and SQ :)
