I did a search for this but couldn't find anything so thought I would start one.

From what we have seen at E3 2013, the concept looks brilliant with the apparent deep customization, being socially connected and the size of the world. But my concern is, how are the cars going to handle as I got fed up with NFS:Rivals floaty controls real quick. If it handles similar to Forza Horizon then it will be ok as you get a sense of weight and grip without it being overly simulation like.

    So what are your thoughts.

Have you played Driver: San Francisco? It's the same devs as that so I would expect a similar driving model.

Awesome game if you've not played it. The cars in that could be very tail happy and slide around a lot, but were still quite responsive for nipping between traffic.

No I've never played Driver, not just San Francisco, only driving games I've played last gen were Forza 2, 3, 4, Horizon, Blur, NFS:Most Wanted(original), NFS:Carbon, NFS: ProStreet(hated the handling),NFS:Undercover(Hated the handling), Dirt, Dirt 2, Burnout: Paradise(can't remember how the cars handled). Any of theses similar to how you think it will handle?

Why not offer to handling models like some games do, Forza 4 offers realistic/simulation and a more arcade feeling one this way you draw in more people, not just the casual racing guys.

I'd guess it would be arcade style handling, since that looks the sort of game it is.

Can't see the vid but I did think it was going to be very social from past vids and articles I've seen. Would be a bit worrying for Drive Club imo.

Looks good,I'm probably going to buy this, drive club looks bland and this seems to have more variation to it.

Finally managed to watch the vid. I think this is what drive club wanted to accomplish tbh and now it's going to look like a douche cuz it's so similar and will be coming out afterwards. Unless DC gets off its arse and launches!

This does look freakin good tho. The Division of racing games.

I can't really judge from the trailer as there doesn't seem to be any actual gameplay in that :S

Can't wait for a racing game though. . .was going to get Drive Club. . .but it had it's chance and blew it , so The Crew will get my money. I think Evolution had big plans for Drive Club. . . then either heard reports, or had some time on The Crew and went back to the drawing board due to the competition being better.

A TDU stye game on a massive map with NFS style action plus a choice of driving models between NFS, PGR and Forza levels of realism. Sounds awesome.

Is it 60fps? One thing I hated about NFS was the low frame rate.

    No, it's 1080p and 30fps on both PS4 and XB1, I believe.

Look out for when the player zooms into the map - impressive detail.

Where was it said about driving styles as that was my main concern as I'm not a fan of NFS floaty arcade steering.

I've seen a couple of things mentioned in previews. One said you had a choice in how the game handles, another said the game plays a certain way depending on the controller used - driving aids are off when using a steering wheel but on when using a pad.

I loved playing TDU2 but what little gloss it had was removed by Forza Horizon's superior physics/handling model. However Horizons lacked the character that TDU2, such as the amusing ads and i also preferred TDU2's soundtrack not that Horizons was too bad but i would gladly have run the DJs over!

So if The Crew can address the handling aspect then it could be the Uber open world driving game (how big is the map!) that sees me buying a PS4 so i can play it.

The game director of The Crew was also game director for the first TDU game.

Pro tip: Avoid sharing your texas longhorn with other men then ;)

As a not very good racing-game player, i like the idea of teams with roles. I'd happily play as a blocker or support car to help the properly fast people get across the line first.
Also very happy they're talking wheel input, just what wheels are they going to support...
