The Creators of Rock Band Are Making A Musical First-Person Shooter
Yeah. They dropped Rock Band for THIS?
And no drums support?
Makes you wonder why they keep ignoring what the people actually want. Virtually every time they post something on Facebook, hundreds of people just comment asking when we're getting RB4.
I guess they are looking for something other than the dancing game that is music based to replace Rockband.
Beyond me why they would drop Rockband like they have. I did wonder if they were waiting for the new consoles, but who knows what they are thinking now.
Would not bang...
So since Rock Band 3 in 2010, we will of had:
- three Dance central games
- Rock Band Blitz
I guess i can understand if they dont think it's the right time, not enough economic viability, or are bored / done-it-all for Rock Band. But still disappointing.
As for the game itself: i'm guessing it's a Counterstrike / TeamFortress type shooter, with what essentially looks like damage and defence enhances if you shoot (or activate powers) in sync with the music.
While it's an interesting idea, i have doubts thats enough to be really successful.
My only hope is given this is a PC game, they're working on a console music game which uses instruments...
Just seen the trailer - hmm. Could be interesting though as a premise. A lot is really going to hinge on the plot and gameplay.
Seems to me that Harmonix really don't know what to do at the moment.
Well I have a few ideas
Playing a game that uses your favourite music as a game element is pretty cool as an idea, but so it's so hard to pull something original off. I guess we should be applauding them for trying.
You never know. It might be a nice little distraction. I know it was totally different but I used to love the odd blast on REZ
Ahhh is that what you call it?

Alas, my copy didn't come with bonus goodies
