We are looking at buying a Chesterfield sofa and there is one we like on-line at The Chesterfield Company but I cannot find much information about the company on-line.

I am looking for a favour from someone that lives in Salford, has experience of or knows about :

The Chesterfield Company,
Newbury House,
Ford Lane,
Salford, M6 6PD

If anyone has any experience of this company or lives locally and knows anything about it and its products, any information they could give me would be appreciated.

I can't comment on that company, but if you are also looking into alternatives then I know the owner of The Original Chesterfield Company, as I help run his sausagemaking and meat curing forum.

Having personally seen ********* Company and now owning one of their sofas I can confirm the quality of the products and would have no problem reccomending them.

They have been online for over 8 years, making them one of the first manufacturers of Chesterfield Sofas to promote online and to the public. There are a few bad copies of the original chesterfield company, Many web companies come along, buy from manufacturers and pretend to be factory direct.

Having been to the factory I can confirm it is a true UK manufacturer and well worth a look.

It's great to be part of and to support true UK manufacturers making quality UK products.

Who wouldn't be proud to support local men and women in employment and by buying British you are doing exactly that. I own a Chesterfield and use it daily, it was made in Manchester and is a quality UK product.

However watch out though for the weak Chesterfield manufacturers who make their furniture out of pieces of scrap leather or "demic" chesterfields as they are known. I would ask the question but to find out, just turn back the pleats and if you find a lot of joins and seems then i'm afraid you have been sold a demic.
