I loved this game so so much, I purchased it on the amiga 500, then repurchased the AGA version on release.

Not sure about this however. For those who have played it already, it doesnt seem like much has been done over and above the aga version so I think there will be a, I have already done this to death so why bother?

for those who are too young to remember it and dont have the nostalgia then, I just dont know if it is modern enough or complex enough. I hate to say it but this looks to me to be no better than the free games you can get in the retroremakes section of this forum.

I will pick it up if it ends up in a humble bundle / indie pack but other than that, not for me. 2 full price purchases of this game is enough for me.

compare this to the flashback remake. THAT is what a remake should be all about imo

Exactly my thoughts on it. Dont know why they havent modernised it a bit (I know there is a 'HD' graphics mode) but as good as the game is/was, just remaking it pixel for pixel and adding nothing new is pretty pointless?

Had a chance there to keep the excellent core gameplay and polish it up a bit to modern standards.

Really disappointing and i wont be buying until its in a dirt cheap sale.

    Sweet :D

I loved that game, and the music was awesome. Lets hope they dont ruin the original feel as with Cannon Fodder..

A quick nostalgic fix and five minutes later you're reminded why some things are best left in the past. It doesn't look like they've improved on any aspect of it, especially on issues brought about by what were hardware limitations at the time of the original game.

I mean, wouldn't those revisiting this want to play the game with enhanced visuals, animation, audio. I know they are probably using the original game assets, but still, some things could have been improved upon, for a start, get that 8-way scroll moving smoothly. :)

Mastertronic, that's a blast from the past - in amongst the dross there were some excellent cheap games.

Ah, I used to buy a lot of Mastertronic and Firebird titles as Rob Hubbard wrote the music for most of the games they released.

Handy though now when feeling nostalgic as I can listen to every C64 tune released using Sid Player on my iPhone.

At the time I just thought it was a variant of Gauntlet. Okay as Gauntlet was okay but not more than that.

This was one of my favourite games on the SNES but after watching the video above, I think it's probably best left consigned to history. Reminds me of the time I bought the original Wip3out on the PS3. Turned out it didn't quite have the nostalgic feeling that I was hoping for so was deleted straight away.

That's true to most old games, Lemmings and cannon fodder are exceptions for me. But i played this on amiga early last year when i had it out and was still awesome. We will see next week. :)

I think Lemmings is the only game from yesteryear that I actually still play today lol.

Even though it's not for me, I hope your experience with CE is as good for you as you remember it. :smashin:

Same amiga graphics and sound. The turn on offable graphics enhancements is just a supersai 2x equiv shimmer filter. Not hd remake

i found the game easiest with the preacher as iirc (its a long time ago) he was the only character who could heal himself.
