I hear good things about the 70-200 IS II any plans to upgrade? I had the 85mm f/1.2 II and it is a real chunk of glass. It does focus slower than wading through treacle though.

I also hear good things, however not enough for me to swap...... Yet:smashin:

85mm slow, well yeah kind of. It's as fast as others with USM, it's the fact that it has a very fine focus adjustment. It's the travel from front to back that can make it appear slow.

In the studio, it's no bother and using at weddings, just needs me to be mindful and that eternal phrase,,,,,,, I have to be ready before the moment:devil:

Bah who needs red rings.

Are we really going to have a thread of people photographing their lenses?

On some forums they actually photograph the boxes their gear came in :D Seems to be more American sites I've noticed do that, or have massive signatures listing their gear which I always thought was odd. I don't mind seeing some lens porn though.

Some bloke on the Pentax forum listed all his gear .. then gear he used to have and sold, then gear he was looking for, then his video gear, then topped it off by adding at the end in large font : I love photography and video.

Never bothered reading his posts as I couldn't work out if he was saying anything important as it was such a jumble.

Here is mine...

100-400L, 70-200L 2.8 mkII, 100mm macro, 24-105L

Did you notice ALL 4 of them cover the 100mm range?

Works great on my 5dmkII.

Not sure of your point?

Massive seems stoopid, but listing your gear is not really pointless. Viewers can see who has what, so if they need to ask a question about somthing, they know who to ask without creating yet another post.

His point is 'why show all your gear, past and present (especially past) then to top it off add your wish list too'.
It doesnt make very interesting reading, and is a little pointless.

At least i think thats what his point was...
