I really want to get a new dvd player for XMAS. But after reading tonnes of poasts I am a little confused. I have it down to:

    Arcam Diva 88 +
    vs
    Denon 3800
    vs
    Toshiba 9500 / 900e

As far as I can tell the denon seems to have problems with its laser pick-up and owners are awaiting new firmware. I don't kow much about the Toshiba. I know the arcam has good reports here.

    1) The question is is which has the best picture and doesnt suffer much from the chroma bug?

    2) is the 00e inferior to the 9500 in terms of pciture performance.

    3) I have read about HD-DVD. Am i wastig my money on a technology that is about to be replaced?
