    The big lebowski.....
Being a huge fan of this movie what are the odds of a sequel??
Fair enough donnys dead but there was a little lebowski on the way??
Iknow they may struggle with a plot but if theres any chance of a sequel then im all for it....Jeff brides is one of my favourite actors and combined with big walter (J Goodman) it cant fail!

I just love the way events unfold....

eg.."your about to lose your house"

"F*!* it lets go bowling"...."life goes on man"....not a care in the world!!

Most people who haven't seen the dude will think ive finally flipped but if not i seriously recommend this comedy!!

    Whats your opinions?

I heard the hype but was not impressed. I'm glad I rented rather than bought. :)

Yeah didn't think much of it. Fargo & Oh Brother Where Art Thou? are much better films.

    I think the Big Lebowski is one of the Coen's brother's best films;
was in tears of laughter at the cinema.
I guess it depends whether it is your type of humour.

As for a sequel I would imagine the Coen's don't 'do' sequels.

    But good idea though :)

I would argue that Fargo is a direct sequel to Blood Simple. They're both very similar :D

has to be one of the finest comedy scripts in the history of everything, ever.

Drank nothing but White Russians for months after.

Fact for the day: The word "fudge" and its variations were spoken 267 times in this movie.

    Nice

Totally love this film. My favourite Coen's film. I've watched it so many times I'm in danger of making myself sick of it though.

I don't think they should do a sequel though. I'd prefer to see them put their efforts into creating something new.

    Fantastic film!

    "Shut the F*@# UP Donny!"

John Turturro is of course excellent as Jesus Quintana.

The guys peeing on the dude's rug.

    "Asian-american is the preferred nomenclature"

Walter is amazing. The whole thing is just great dialogue. Endlessly quotable.

    "Little Lebowski Urban Achievers"

Absolutely hilarious! One of my favourite films of all time.

I don't think a sequel would work, but I'd like to see the same actors brought together again.

I love the moment where The Dude rushes over to the telephone, and uses a pencil to reveal what was last written on the pad of paper...

A fine film! Although, to be honest, I've loved all the Coen brothers films: I haven't been disappointed by anything they've done.

I agree that a sequel would be a bad idea, but it would be nice if they worked with Jeff Bridges again in the future.

Check out (especially on this day) the date the Dude rights on his check at the start of the film. With George Bush Sr in the background. This agression will not stand, man.

Of course the classic Kenny Rogers & The First Edition theme makes the movie :D...

And in agreeance with other people in the thread, this film had me crying with laughter as I watched it - haven't laughed that hard at a film very often!

Taken from IMDB, but one me & my mates use quite often.

Walter Sobchak: You want a toe? I can get you a toe, believe me. There are ways, Dude. You don't wanna know about it, believe me.
    The Dude: Yeah, but Walter...
Walter Sobchak: Hell, I can get you a toe by 3 o'clock this afternoon...with nail polish.

Its such a good film man, when they "scatter" Donnie's ashes, classic.

I love the scene outside the bowling alley towards the end - the 'Confrontation'...

I'm in stitches just thinking about it

    Last one peeps,
Thought i'd leave it at the scene where after several violent visits from jackie treehorns guys and from zee german autobahn guys (we wants zee money lebowskee or we'l cut off your johnson guys) dude decides to secure his door from any intruders so he spends the best part of an hour hammering in nails to act as a prop for a chair...........which seems to be working fine until the door opens....the OTHER way!!
    Comedy at its finest.....
What movies have the brothers made after the dude (big leb)??
