When it comes to a multiroom setup, sound matters. And there is no room for compromise between style and function. This is a tall order from audiophiles looking for a home music experience that not only fits seamlessly into life but delivers on power.

What makes Mu-so the best choice?

Unique Specification

The technical specifications of Mu-so itself are what makes it the best choice for any multiroom setup. The anodised aluminium skin provides a natural, distortion-free sound and the extruded aluminium heat sink maximises thermal performance.

Six 75-watt digital amplifiers, one for each of the six custom-designed speaker drivers, deliver a total of 450 watts of power and a carefully designed porting system moves large volumes of air with low turbulence for serious bass kick from a small cabinet.

Mu-so features a 32-bit digital signal processor capable of millions of calculations per second. It’s the audio brain of the system, running software fine-tuned by our engineers in the listening room to extract every last drop of performance from your music.

With a high-quality antenna system which delivers seamless and robust Wi-Fi connectivity without the need for an external aerial, Mu-so is truly the best choice for any multiroom setup.

Multiroom

Naim Audio Mu-so & Mu-so Qb wireless speakers can be synced across a maximum of 5 rooms, so you can spread them out across the house in up to 5 different locations.

To make the most out of any multiroom system, speakers should be placed in a central location, away from the walls. However, if your Mu-so is placed close to a wall, you can open the Naim app’s ‘Settings’ menu, select the ‘Room Position’ option and choose ‘Less than 25cm’. This will ensure the ideal quality of sound and level of bass for that specific location.

Integration

Mu-so and Mu-so Qb are both wireless speakers, however, they can be synced with wired Naim Audio streaming products, including Naim HDX, the Naim Uniti range, NAC-N-272 from the Classic series, and the NDS, NDX and ND5 XS network players.

Connectivity that COUNTS

Mu-so and Mu-so Qb offer a wide range of connectivity, so you can choose from AirPlay, Bluetooth®/aptX®, Spotify Connect®, TIDAL, UPnP™ (access your stored music), Internet Radio, USB or analogue and digital inputs; all of which can be controlled using the Naim app.

Naim app and Naim Music

With the Naim app, you can seamlessly control your entire multiroom audio setup from your iOs or Android device. The app automatically discovers any Naim Audio streaming product, saving you the hassle of connecting all of your devices to one control centre.

Once connected, you can then adjust the volume, skip, pause and play tracks in each room at the touch of a button. Using Party Mode, you can play the same song across all of your systems and change the volume of all units simultaneously, or you can choose to play different songs in each room.

So, to really create the best all-in-one multiroom setup you need a combination of thorough planning and audio system positioning, an understanding of and utilisation of the most advanced audio technologies, award winning products and a simple, effective way to control the entire setup. All of this and more is available with the Mu-so and Mu-so Qb all-in-one wireless music systems.

How does a Naim Multiroom Setup Work?

Mu-so’s multiroom solution is based around using an RTP stream driven from the audio bit-clock, the hardware for which is based on a high precision programmable PLL.

The audio that is played for the multiroom stream goes through a software ASRC, Opus Encoder and is time-stamped. At the other end, the system extracts time stamps and then drives the programmable PLL; so, input rate = output rate. Audio is decoded/corrected using an Opus Decoder and then output.

The stream is kept as a native, bit-perfect stream on the master device that is generating the stream, meaning little sound quality is lost through this setup.

Award-Winning, Simple to use Technology

Both Mu-so and Mu-so Qb have an enviable collection of awards, from industry leaders such as Sound and Vision (Top Pick Winner 2016), AV Tech (Best Compact Music System 2016/2017), Pocket-lint (Gadget of the Year 2015), and a Highly Commended prize from the Sound and Image Awards 2016.
