Is this worth getting?
Available on the 26th august, £10 at amazon.
Rated 18! Clearly not the Banana Splits I used to watch 40 something years ago.
Maybe the 18 is for the Arabian Nights cartoon in the middle.
Here the trailer

WTF,thats not the banana splits, should be funny and totally mental, not horror.
What on the flipperty flip is that?!!!
OK, having argued against this statement everytime someone mentions it,
This might actualy ruin my childhood memories.
Whatever next Mr Benn as a serial killer or Bagpuss on a rampage?
Inevitably a parent will get this for a small child who will then have nightmares.
Is this a joke?
1. It looks absolutely terrible.
2. It is a rubbish idea and not in the least bit subversive at all.
No, it's not worth getting!
Pre-ordered, got to be worth it for a fun pop corn movie for a tenner.
Bagpuss was put down years ago after going rabid and inspiring King to write Cujo.
Then please report back and let us know what you think?
And be honest! If it's great, fine, but if it's crap then say so!
Okay will do.
Will probably fall into the "it's so bad it's good" category.
Wonder what age group this is aimed at. I am 55 and grew up with the banana splits but I don't recall them lasting much long after, not in the UK at least, maybe they went on longer in the US.
So what is the youngest age now of people that watched banana splits in their childhood - can't imagine it is much less than 50.
I'm really looking forward to it, love me a bit of subversive nostalgia
It was good if you like psychotic animatronics and a tie in.
I heard Mr Benn was going to be in a remake of The Woodsman
I'd watch that.
They could just have done a film of crazy animatronics but with no tie-in it would have been largely ignored. Some will watch it purely because there's a connection.
Or this could also be the nearest we will have to a film version of Five Nights At Freddys.
Five Nights at Freddy's - Wikipedia
Watched it last night - abysmal
It's cheaply made, virtually all filmed in one large warehouse by the looks of it, there are some nice gore effects and while i would not class it as "good" it's nowhere near as bad as i expected. However,i'm 55,remember the Splits very well so there was nostagia value in this for me.
I'm 52 and was gutted that Banana Vac didn't contribute to proceedings.
BS was one of my childhood fav's, I can't image who the target audience would be for this, quite shocking really that something like this has been given the green light! God! What's next, Tellytubbies and the terror of the Tubby Toast! Absolutely shocking!
I'm 42 & I remember them well.
I haven't watched the trailer as I'm work but damn if this isn't something bizarre...I wonder if this is set in an alternate universe to the Banana Splits we knew & loved where they are all evil murderers instead
