Thought this would be a useful Thread for all members and newbies.

Why not add your web page or photo albums here so everyone can see your setups and ask questions. It would be very good to let everyone who aspires to having an HC system using projection, see what can be achieved from a limited budget and without huge dealers budget style installs.

I will start the ball rolling and you can check my instal pictures here: http://photos.yahoo.com/thxtex Please note that the room is not finnished and the photos are from the PJ install Day. I will add new photos soon. The entire set up inc equipment and materials was £3.5k. It is used in a dedicated room.

    Okay - here goes.
Mine's not really trying to look anything like a cinema but when the lights are off all you look at is the screen [until the really bright scenes which light up the room :( ].

Total cost for projector, pc, screen, cables and installation was £4,100 - not too bad. Hopefully I'll get a little back by selling the old tv and dvd player!

I will be putting more pictures up over the next couple of days as I am happy that the picture quality is as good as it should be now!

Full spec is on the site as well as the installation photos.

    Have fun

Both look great. It looks like I'm going to have to finish the last little details of tmy room and get some pictures posted soon.

The main poroblem I have is too much clutter under the screen, I'm going to work out some sort of cabinet design to house it all, and provide a solid platform fo the centre spreaker.

Like was mentioned in another post, it would be good to have a sticky Thread with all the D-I-Y installs listed. It is certainly a help to people starting from scratch.

My site is not ready yet but 've added a few pictures to it for now.

    www.pauldowning.co.uk

It may be slow loadings as all the pictures are full size. I will make all the future pictures(finished site) into thumbnails, so only the ones you wish to see need expanding etc.

Here is a link to a great DIY install.

Not mine, which is a shame.

The thread also has some good links to other projects.

The screen looks good for a DIY job.

Should give anyone in the planning stage a few nice ideas.

    I need a bigger house :(
