It's that time of the year again where everyone is rushing around buying the latest gadgets whilst some of us are happy to make do with a piece of glass encased in plastic.

So what's on everyone's wishlist this winter?

My present got here early and is the perfect lens for the dull and soaking wet days spent mostly indoors .

That would be nice. It was good last year but the weather is pretty terrible here at the moment - freezing cold but still raining.

With my only other two lenses being the kit and a 50 1.8 this lens has blown me away in every department. I've never used the non-IS version but I know I wouldn't have been able to take 90% of the shots I have without IS so to me that makes it more than worth the premium .
