Just bought my first projector a panasonic AE700
    pictures look excellent

I have watched about 8 hours and have pain in my eyes after watching and the next morning, they really ache.

My eyesight has always been perfect, never needed specs until now, not had any problems with cinema or TV.

currently projecting onto a white wall 4.5m away with varying
picture sizes and ambient light levels

Has anyone had the same experience and what did you do
do I need to sell my equipment and give up with projectors?

    Please help

    Cheers

    Dan

Firstly, I would get an eye test.

Did you watch 8 hours in one go, or is this cumulative?

I got a bit of a headache when I watched my projector for the first time. I took it, as just getting used to the big image size.

I wouldn't recommend 8 hours in one go (if you did it like that).

Its probably just a sinus thing.
I actuallly find viewing on the projector much easier on the eye.

If you think about it, when watching a TV screen your eyes are focusing on a high level light source over a smaller area. There is no 'average' light level for your eyes to adjust to.
However, watching a huge projected image fills your field of vision and your eyes can adjust to the average light level.

Of course, 8 hours continuous focus at a single fixed object is not good for your eyes whatever your looking at. You need to focus on objects at varying distances once in a while.
My eyes get tired after a long film on my LCD projector, but on a DLP projector I'm going cross-eyed after 20 minutes.
