If I were you I would avoid The 4400!

It's an overrated piece of sci-fi trash and while comparable to the X-Files and Taken, is massively inferior to both.

If you don't already own them I would recommend buying the X-Files and Babylon 5 DVDs. QUALITY SCI-FI.

By ther end of season 1 it begins to show some promise but the first 2 or 3 episodes have some of the worst acting ever, almost acorn antiques with special effects!!

i could shape up to be quite good - make sure brain is in the "off" position. not even in the same league as the X Files.

I'm with Garyd on this one...with the first couple of episodes, I wasn't too sure what to think of it (mixed feelings about some of the casting, though I didn't think the acting was that bad) but by the end of the fifth episode I was quite enjoying it and wanted the story to continue. The cast seemed to have grown more comfortable in their roles, too. So I'm looking forward to the next (first proper) series.

I agree that nothing seen so far is anywhere near the standard of X-Files, which at it's best produced some of the finest genre TV ever IMHO, but it's a little unfair to compare these five episodes to a show that has a nine year history.
