I ordered the HD-Fury from the curtpalme site under the impression that it would
be shipped by a fast method of delivery ie 2/3 days, supported by paperwork that would not attract any import fees (Kim manages this when shipping his transcoder). Instead, I got an invoice from Parcel Force and had to pay £31.07
VAT and clearance fee before I could get my hands on mine. This is almost a 1/3 again on top of the $189 purchase price.

They certainly seem cheaper but I ordered one over 2 weeks ago and still no joy!

The Ebay seller has well over 4000 (99.9%) positive feedback,
    So I wouldn't have thought there'd be any problems.

I'm hoping that's the case. I sent him an email a couple of days after I ordered to check delivery and he apologised as he was moving premises so there would be a small delay, which is fair enough. :)

The item said 4 in stock when I bought it though and they're not exactly difficult to post so I'm confused about the lenght of the delay.

Will sit tight for the minute though - hopefully he'll reply to my next delivery query. :boring:

I've not heard of the extra charges before...

I ordered mine through Curt palme website and it arrived 5 days later, 2 days were the weekend... No Charges although I had to sign for it.

Needed to order a different cable and the psu and that also came 5 days later, excellent service...

When you import anything you are obliged to pay duty on it. If you are unlucky, as I was, someone will note the value of the goods on the declaration and charge you accordingly. The sender should declare a low value so that it sails through, but this didn't happen in my case.... so people
should be aware they may have to pay more for their imported item.

    Hello all

Keep in mind the 'declared' value is also the 'Insured' value - under declare and you don't have the correct insurance cover.

Well I finally got a reply from the Ebay seller. He says that he's been defrauded and so Paypal has frozen his account with my money in it!

He asked me to claim it back from Paypal, which means I have to raise an issue with him, then after 20 days escalate to Paypal as unresolved.

His ebay name is mancunia333 and shop is www.cybershop.ltd.uk.

Whilst I'm going through this process does anyone know of another UK source for the HD fury?

    Oh!.
That's not the Ebay seller I was thinking of .
The one currently selling HDFURYs on Ebay has over +4000 positive feedback,
(not just 89 as your seller had).

    Probably a better bet:smashin:.
    And he has various colours/versions.

    Paul.

Well, I've escalated the claim to Paypal and bought another from the seller with more positives.

Hi Rob....not a lot to report really, it does exactly what it's designed to do. It allows me to hook up a Toshiba HD-XE1 via HDMI to my 808s and the picture's great. :smashin:
