been on this for a few months and finally bought my sharp 26ga4 today from lewis solihull 5yr warranty(worth about 250-300 pounds i reckon)
got a good deal £969 price match to crampton and moore sheffield
wouldnt have got that price if had not read these forums.
decided on 26inch 1000 pounds cheaper than philips 9986. Will buy a 32-inch a couple of years when god knows what the tvs (thinks cell processors blue ray picture quality)will be like the grand i save now will go towards my tv the best way of futureproofin imo

    thanks again

Roberte what do you think of the 26" sharp? Is it big enough? I may get one. Also if you feel the need to post pics I wouldn't complain :D

    Well done,

Have just put mine on the wall. Watching footie on a DVI feed from my PC. Pretty damn good.

    DVD's are just awesome.

Let us know how you get on. Also let me know what settings you are using. Still playing with mine.

    Good luck.

    Cheers

    Paul

The 5 is a reduced functionality model & should be cheaper ( not always ). It's speakers are fixed and no DVI and other things. Do a search on GA5, this topic has been done to death!

GA5 has speaker below screen and no DVI input. Speakers are fixed on GA5 not detachable

I would also like to thank all you nice people in this forum. I got my LC26GA4E today and very pleased with it. Only got Freeview wired into it right now, but intend using the DVI with my PC as well when I have a cable.

I bought my set from John Lewis in Reading. I phoned them yesterday and asked for a price match with RBG Direct. They phoned me this morning and confirmed that they would do the match :smashin: I collected it this afternoon. I paid £950 for it

I did email Sharp about the 6E and go this rather discouraging reply:

"I'm afraid to say that Sharp are not intending to release an LC26GA6E. The next model to be released in the 26" size will be the LC26GA5E, and as far as I am aware there will not be a GA6E released in the UK."

    :(
