just wanted to put a post on to thank you Dodge & other contributors

I am the typical "best TV for under £500" & although I didn't post a question I have been reviewing the forum avidly and tailored my purchase based on your advice. Realised I sat too far away for UHD, made notes about the TVs you recommended and even managed to make a Currys sales asst walk in the other direction when I started to repeat (verbatim) your advice - made me laugh!

I've bought a 55J6240 (not from Currys) and I am really pleased

Just wanted you to know your wise words do not go unheeded - thanks again

I also appreciate the advice and contribution made to the forum from Dodge and other regular contributors. Thanks

I concur and he spends a lot of time guiding the newbies.
We were all new once.
He assisted me off thread with an issue and so thanks very much for your time.
And lets not forget a mention in despatches for all the other kind souls off here that also give of their time to answer questions that cannot easily be gleaned from cyberspace.
A coming together and a gathering of minds.
An absolute myriad of information and I for one would have been lost without it.

Plus it's a big kudos to be able to go into AV shops armed to the teeth with knowledge.
Personally I'm like a pawn shop and take everything in.
Some of the time I don't understand the complexities of what I have just read but the information highway is there all the same.
You must buy Ferris and Gladstone gold Tipped diamond HDMI leads or you will be very sorry when in essence anything high speed for under five metres long is going to be just fine.
Or the reps insinuation that lg's passive 3d is the worst available when clearly it rocks !
Or I need to buy a warranty at £500 as "these" telly's keep crashing with software glitches.
If that's the case and the crashes are constant then I will keep my £3000 firmly in my pocket.

The ability to suck in with a deep breath and totally bedazzle the pants off the salesman with all manner of technophobe words with waffle.
Ah my good man, behind you over there on the second isle ..
Is that a signature LG Oled "g" series I see with glass on glass technology ?

In the last eight months of my search I have gleaned enough information to warrant a visit to the mastermind programme with specialist subject being electrickery devices 2016 to 2017.

However all the above did not save me from buying a lemon on my first purchase last week.
All that glitters is not gold.
I will explain later with details of my spellbindingly beautiful second purchase which arrived yesterday for anyone remotely interested but now it's time for work.

Placards with your avatar and the URL for this site outside Currys it is then:lease:

To be honest most people I know care more about getting the biggest screen they can for their £500 and, whether it matches the lounge decor. PQ isn't even a consideration but the colour of the bezel is:nono::nono: :facepalm:
