Just want to thank Stuart for opening a seperate CRT forum.

I for one was getting sick of the constant LCD panasonic Posts, and losing the CRT based Stuff in the mix.

Thanks again Stuart, and this will be a busy and interesting forum.

    Phil,

I agree with you entirely about the AE100 posts and thats coming from a guy who owns an 11HT! I've always found the CRT postings interesting as, potentially, this is what we all aspire to at least in the short term. The pace of technology will undoubtedly preclude the necessity of having a small fridge bolted to the ceiling (hence my unavoidable LCD route) but for the moment I view the Barco owner with a slight feeling of envy.

I shall continue to frequent the new CRT forum if only as an outsider.

Can we start a really interesting thread that asked "Who has a CRT on order" and then list peoples names. Whoops that means I am admitting I have looked at it

My room is 25x12 so thats 300 square feet. Using up 6 square feet for my 808 is a small price to pay for such stunning image quality ;)

    Darren,

You have a similar size room to my own though mine also happens to be the living room. My electric Grayhawk retracts into a thin slot in the ceiling, the Tosh SD900 sits anonymously with the rest of my hi-fi kit in its colour coordinated rack and the 11HT sits on a smart little trolley which gets wheeled out when its showtime.

Room still looks like a living room and the wife doesn't mind at all. HOWEVER, with a Volkswagen Golf bolted to the ceiling I would most likely be selling my AV gear to pay for a divorce lawyer. This is the price I have to pay for a quiet life.

A bigger house with a dedicated cinema room would solve the problem but we only moved a couple of years ago so we won't be moving again any time soon. Though I still think the double garage has potential;)

Mines my living room as well but fortunately I have a wife that loves watching it more than I do. In fact as I mentioned before on this thread she says that if we ever got divorced she would be keeping it

It really does not look that bad to us and we dont care what other people think, its our house after all. If I knew then what I know now I would have really made a statement and gone for a 1209.
