    Hi Everyone

    TH42PE30 with SCHT1500??

I have read a few reviews of both products and seen both 'in store' - Love em! :smashin:

However I have no idea how really good these two are together... in other words, presuming I go for the TH42, is the SCHT 1500 worth the cash or could I get away with a cheaper home cinema system? At the end of the day, we're after a great looking and sounding system (spending around £3000 all together, so that should be reflected) but do not want to throw money at extras when not necessary.

Any advice or hands on experience appreciated.

    * Forgot to say - these are both Panasonic

    Many Thanks
    Stallanzii

    Hi,

I purchased the afore mentioned Viera with
a SCHT870 and am more than happy.

The looks compliment eachother and i wanted
    floor standing speakers.

C what you think, i purchased the SCHT-870 for less than
    £300.

    Yes four Tall boys.

Some reviews say the Sub is too loud for the rest
of the speakers, but i get on well with it.

When the volume is turned up it totaly drowns out the
    Viera speakers.

Just check that you are happy with the Various inputs
on the SCHT-870, they were sufficient for my purposes.

The 37 has two boxes and seems to be good if you want to add systems on, if that is the only major difference? I doubt we'll pursue.

As to the link - I see what you mean about £££ (I wish I had friends with that kind of expendable income and home cinema inclination - I'd move in).

HDD receiver - sorry, what is that again?
(Bit technicalled out now, been web searching all day and Panasonic'd out)!

    Again, appreciate the fast help

it has a hard disk drive to record TV onto (from sky etc as well as internal analogue tuner IIRC) as well as recording to DVD, i think it is an AMP/receiver with the guts of a DMRE-100 in it (slightly older model i think than the 37R) those cantons are very very sexy top of my wish list......

sorry, feel free to run a mile here - but does an ordinary dvdr nor record from tv / sky?
does this HDD record onto drive as well as disc then? (If so, why is that good)?

bet you wish you'd neve replied!

Yes it is and is more flexible than the DVD only go away on holiday and the HDD can store 20+ hours of programming in high quality as opposed to 6 on a disc
870 is just a player as far as i know

I have the 37th pe30 and sc ht37r and i am very happy with them. Very inpressed and find the hdd very usefull. Had a good play with the 37r and find it quite easy after a week or two, but always something to learn hey.
