    Hello,

Some help please if you can.

I'm trying to find the pic of the table top (pedistal) stand, i think it's the TYST42PX20 type (will do the TH37PE30B type so i'm told) alot of sites quote this but dont display the pic :( i like to be sure that this is the correct type before buying.

    Regards
    G

They also a picture of the screen of a different stand the PA20 here

Let us know how you get on with the screen and stand.

I've got my 42PE30 on the 'PA20' curved stand - looks much better IMHO

    Rake,

thanks for that, but i'm a bit confused now, the one i want is the TY-ST37PX20 thats with the pic, but they quote the TY-ST42PX20 ??

I've sent AV a mail asking if both r the same item. if they r, strange they 2 diff part numbers......

    Common,

Due to space and position and other things, it has to be the pedistal stand :( but no worries as the good lady likes it ;-)

    Regards

sounds to me like the difference is whether they are made for the 37" or 42" versions

The pedestal stand for both the 42" and 37" Vieras are the same... TY-ST42PX20. The vertical poles mount in slightly different places depending on whether you are mounting a 42" or 37" screen.

Good luck in getting the pedestal stand though, I placed an order for mine last month and I am still waiting for it. Panasonic have been totally useless in this respect  And some internet sellers have the stands in stock but refuse to sell them as single items without the plasma screen.

Empire Direct still can't tell me when I can expect my stand to turn up

Darn things are rarer than hen's teeth

*EDIT* I'd considered the PA20 stand but that's approx 6kg in weight whereas the PX20 stand is approx 12kg I thought there must be a reason for the difference so got the panny recommended stand.

    Steve P,

Yes your correct, i've had a reply back from AV Sales :-

    Dear sir,

The stand is the same for both the 37" and the 42" so if you order online
    just click on the TY-ST42PX20.

    Regards

    Hayes Alkin

mind now at ease :), and thanks for the PDF files ;-)

    many thanks to all

    Regards
    G

No problemo, glad to share the information. :) Hope you can read Japanese ;) and I hope you have more success than I in trying to source the elusive Viera pedestal stand.

Ironically you can find lots of brand new TY-ST42PX20 , TY-ST50PX20 or TY-ST42PA20 stands (unused from people that wallmount their plasmas) very cheap at Ebay (USA).

You couldn't get them at all back in July 04 ;) They seem to have decent supply of them from Sept onwards.

I forgot to mention ( Don't know if you already know this) ...

In the US all the Panasonic Consumer Models come with the tabletop stand supplied. Since most people prefer to wallmount their plasmas, there's always stands available at Ebay for auction.

Got my pedestal stand yesterday with Viera. JL had it in stock though they are out of stock of the cabinet stand which I didn't want anyway.

The pedestal isn't exactly elegant but reassuringly heavy! It's quite deep (about 30cm) so will need to bear in mind when buying new av furniture so there's sufficient room in front for centre speaker. May not be possible to use the more slimline av tables (about 40cm depth) with this stand. I chose pdestal because I'll have more gear than fits comfortably in the cabinet (shelves don't hold two units side by side but I guess you can stack the slimmer ones).

ps any ideas from you viera owners about the epg software query I posted?
