Hi, currently living in Singapore and thinking about taking the plunge: I've learnt a lot from browsing this site and given Aussies will be going HD for most broadcasting in a few years, I'm thinking of buying a panasonic HD plasma (T-42PHW6). I was talking with a sales guy today and he told me that it would not work in Australia; is this true???

I've searched around a bit, and see that Singapore is PAL-B and Australia PAL-B/G, but don't really understand the difference. Will I have any problems?

    Cheers
    Sean

Australia is Pal B and G and so is Singapore.

I think the "B" part refers to the VHF signal that the tuner can receive and the G part the UHF signal.

If your not using the built in tuner does it actually matter what letter of Pal they are aslong as they are both Pal?

Australia mains is 240v and Singapore is 230v.

As far as I can tell it should work. But it would be ideal if somebody could confirm.
