    HI,

    Im expecting delivery of my Viera 37PE50 and DMR-ES10 this week.

    Im also going to have my Xbox & NTL Digital hooked up, and I was wondering what would get the best PQ results?

    ES10 - Composite for playback & scart for recording from NTL (not that fussed about recording)
    Xbox - RGB Scart
    NTL - Scart

    Its a shame there isnt 2 RGb's, cant have it all eh lol

    Out of interst is say CATV compatible, does this mean if I run my cable connection straight to the TV I would receive Freeview channels as it has freeview built in?....not that Im going to do it with having NTL digi im just interested.

    Thanks,
    Brido

    I thought the PE50 could accept RGB signals via AV1 and AV4? :confused: If it were me I would connect:

    - NTL box via RGB SCART to AV1
    - Video (if you still have one kicking around) via Composite SCART to AV2
    - both Xbox and your ES10 via component to AV4, you'd need a component switch box to allow 2x Component signals -> 1x input.

    If you're not fussed about top PQ then the Xbox could use another input.

    You mention above composite for the ES10 playback, that really isn't the best way to connect your recorder to your plasma. Go with RGB SCART or component. I'm also pretty sure that of the two SCARTs on the back of your NTL box, the one labelled TV will output a full RGB signal whereas the second one labelled VCR/video will only output a composite signal. So another option would be to:

    NTL -> ES10 -> TV (via AV4C)
    Xbox -> TV (via AV1RGB)
    Video -> TV (via AV2)

    Trouble is, I'm not too sure about the full specs on the ES10 or the PE50.

    Thanks for the advice mate, its along the lines I was thinking!

    I meant to say component for the DVD, not composite...DOH!

    Cheers,

    The PE50's DO have 2 rgb capable inputs, AV1 and AV3. I would run the NTL box via RGB Scart into the tv on AV1 while also running a scart to the ES10. ES10 into tv via component on AV4C. Then the Xbox via RGB scart into AV3. Sortted then for great pq. Good luck!
