Is anyone using a touchscreen to control their homecinema. I currently have my hcpc connected to my pj but the other day i loaded itunes and was very impressed with the quality of sound coming through the pc,amp and speakers, so might also now use this room to listen to music but i dont want to turn my pj on everytime i want to listen to music.

I was going to buy a normal tft, but for the price of one of these i can get a touchscreen and thought that i could use it to load and play music, then also use it to control the pc.

A touchscreen uses usb so i take it i can display via this and via the pj for homecinema control, then just use it as a display and control for music listening. Has anybody done this, if so what are the recommended models, pitfalls, benefits etc, thanks.

    Hi
This was exactly the solution I went for to play my music, got a Xenarc 700TSV
Use the TFT for playing music and a bit of web browsing and use my PJ only for films now.
The TFT needs to be set for primary monitor for the USB interface to work but that creates no problem as TheaterTek is set for the secondary.
Only downside is trailing wires, but its a solution I wouldn't be without now.

if you haven't already I'd suggest at look at xlobby. great (free) front end for media that lets you use touchscreens to control your media library. it uses other apps like foobar2000 and theatertek to play the media and is VERY customisable.

i've used my PDA with xlobby (via wifi) to play music without my tv on.
