I am about to buy a 17" or 19" monitor (19" if i get my way :D ) and i was wondering if a dvi connection makes any difference to picture quality. I will not watch movies or play games on it, but will using a dvi give a better result for normal use. Thanks Mark

As usual there's no easy answer. :)

In principle yes it does, however if the panel itself is poor then a better quality panel with only analog could still better it. In the case of my old Eizo both analog and digital produce excellent results and it's hard to know which is which unless you see the OSD when you select it.

That said, if all else is equal then go for the one with DVI.
