Text Message Vibrate Alert

Ok

I have just got a Samsung S5 moving over from iPhone and the vibrate alert for text on iPhone was great. I could change it. How do we change it on the S5 if we can please... as I am hard of hearing

I think if you go into the text message app then open the settings menu. Somewhere in there it will say about notifications, ringtone, and vibrate. Just check next to vibrate and that should do it.

If it's like my old Note 2 then vibration settings can be access via Settings>Sound and also via the Settings when in the SMS app.

You should be able to change the vibration pattern and intensity, but I'm not sure about duration.

This app might be handy if you don't find the default settings very useful...

Can't appear to be able to change the vibrate pattern at all for text alert is there a app for this too as that light app is great thanks. Cheers

I think the Light app might be able to do that, based on the description from Play Store...

You can also set repeating sounds or vibration patterns for each notification type

I'd guess the option is buried in the settings somewhere

I use textra from the play store which is a better app for messages and you can set all details of your notifications including custom vibrate lengths etc.
