Has anyone seen the new "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" remake that's just opened recently? Is it any good?

Yeah, might be early, but the local UCI are showing it on Saturday night only this week. So I wanted to know quickly if it's any good so I can try to catch the 9:40 show, and I hate dragging a friend along if the film turns out to be no good.

I found it pretty good, but not nearly as good as the original version.

They also added a few bits on so not a straight remake.

Why is it that Hollywood is churning out so many movies based on films already made (i.e. dodgy remakes like this) or ideas which are already written (this infuriating number of Cartoon-to-film transfers and Comic Book movies)??

    What's hapenned to script writers!?

Have they all died or gone on strike!?

Michael Bay's excuse for doing a remake for TCM was that he wanted to do a movie with the name "Texas Chainsaw Massacre." He wanted to do it solely because of the name. (boggles the mind)

I said it before and I'll say it again. If Hollywood feels the need to remake a movie, rent the original and ignore the remake. You can count on one hand the number of remakes that are superior to the originals. In fact, go out now and find a copy of The Manchurian Candidate before they butcher that classic too.
