I see the Canadian Blu-ray is out ahead of the USA release is it region free & how does it compare?

The US release is already out and region free. Can be picked up for around £13 from most US stockists.

I ordered the US version from Amazon at $9.99. After shipping the exchange rate had it at £10.31.....that's a whopping 32 pence extra to avoid EIV's Blu-ray Lottery.

I was expecting it to be more like £15 considering EIV is usually cheaper anyway. As I am not even sure I want this title (I have the DVD plus the prequel), I can wait and see if the UK one is the same.

I also noticed Freddy vs Jason is also only $11.49 too.
